A family business, rooted in tradition Our history
Having started out with courage and a clear vision, we have specialised in the injection moulding process from the very beginning.
Over the decades, the company has experienced continuous growth, characterised not only by our ability to adapt to changing market conditions, but also by our relentless efforts to continuously improve our manufacturing techniques and increase product quality.
Today, the name Risse & Co. GmbH is synonymous with quality and reliability in plastics processing. With almost seven decades of experience, we are proud to continue to offer tailored, high-quality solutions. We remain true to our roots, but are always looking ahead so as to successfully master the challenges of the future.
It all started with the first Battenfeld injection moulding machine, installed in the cellar of the Göke-Vollpert family home in Warstein. Egon Risse and Josef Göke took the leap into self-employment. One of the first products was the "The Little Master Builder” sand play set.
Shortly after getting up and running in early 1960, by late summer the cellar became too small and the fledgling company moved to Rangestrasse. While production was initially maintained thanks largely to assistance from “helpful neighbours" - with operations running 24/7 even at this early stage - the machine park had grown to 4 machines by the beginning of 1963 and the first permanent employees were hired. At this point, Josef Göke left the company and was replaced by Paul Dirichs and Anton Gödde.
In the 1960s, our first in-house tool shop was set up in the stables of the Mues-Böckeler estate. The former banqueting and dance hall quickly became our packing centre, screen printing shop and warehouse. At this time, the production line comprised 23 tools and two further injection moulding machines.
By the mid-1960s, our company was spread across 3 "locations" - and so, it was time for a new building. The choice was made in favour of our current location in Suttrop, and the big moving day took place in the autumn of 1969.
The topping-out ceremony for the 2nd production hall is celebrated, with 1,500 different machine elements already being produced.
Over the next few years, several further expansions of the production area would follow to keep up with the company's sustained growth.
The new toolmaking facility is inaugurated The resulting space enables the significant expansion of mechanical processing and assembly.
Today, a total of 165 employees work within a total of 3,000 square metres of production space, and the journey is far from over. A new logistics hall and technical centre are currently in planning - the ground-breaking ceremony is expected to take place in 2025.
